Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of Saint Mark Episcopate, sent a congratulatory telegram to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on the blessed occasion of Eid Al-Adha.
In the telegram, the pope wrote, "On my own behalf and in the name of the Egyptian Coptic Orthodox Church, I am pleased to send to your Excellency and all our Muslim brothers the most sincere congratulations on the occasion of the blessed Eid Al-Fitr, and I take this opportunity to salute the sincere efforts that you are making in order to achieve the aspirations and hopes of the Egyptians."
It is worth mentioning, Egypt’s Dar Al Ifta has announced that Tuesday, July 20 will mark the 1st day of Eid al Adha.
On this occasion, the Egyptian Dar Al Ifta congratulated the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and the Arab world’s leaders, wishing the Islamic world all the blessings and peace.
Earlier, Egypt’s Endowments Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa announced that the upcoming Eid al-Adha prayers will take place at major mosques where only Friday prayers are held.
