Poland Raises Loan for Ukraine to EUR 160 Million

Ukraine has endorsed an order to make amendments to its agreement with Poland, regarding the increase in the value of concessional loans provided for the implementation of investment projects in Ukraine.

Poland increased the loan value by EUR 60 million to EUR 160 million. The deadline for signing contracts was extended from 31 December 2022 to 31 December 2024.

The provision regarding the requirement to receive at least 60% of expenses of Polish origin for the purchase of customs control technologies was canceled. Amendments to the contracts signed during 2017-2018 were enabled, regarding the increase in their price without limiting the size of the increase.

A total of EUR 94.1 million are directed to develop road infrastructure on the approaches to five checkpoints on the Ukrainian-Polish state border.

Moreover, about EUR 58.9 million will be used to equip such checkpoints as Shehyni, Krakivets, Rava-Ruska; purchase mobile scanning systems for such checkpoints as Yahodyn, Shehyni, Krakivets, and Rava-Ruska.

Through the remaining EUR 7 million, the government will purchase unmanned aircraft systems and state border monitoring technologies.
