One of the Russian Publishing Houses is keen to translate the complete works of the late poet and author Shawki Hegab into Russian.
It is interested in starting the project by translating Hegab's children's works.
The initiative was presented by the Egyptian Association of Graduates of Russian and Soviet Universities as they recommended some works that were chosen by the author himself before his death.

The president of the association Sherif Gad revealed that the author was pleased with the news of the Russian publishing house's interest in translating his works.
It was reported that Hegab hailed the move, commenting that Russian literature is always among the most-read works.
Gad commented that Hegab's work is unforgettable and his characters like "Boeloz," and "Koky Kak" are always remarkable.
Gad highlighted that translating Hegab's works into Russian is a tribute to him and a love letter to his family and fans regarding his role in forming the awareness of Arab children.
He also praised Hegab's role in addressing children with his easy, and catchy language.
