"I apologize for the spirit of the "The Voice of Egypt" Umm Kulthum, and the spirit of the great poet, the father of poets Ahmed Ramy, and for any artist, I have offended in expressing unintentionally, and how I offended those who taught me literature ... How can a young poet like me offend Who taught me literature and patriotism."

Dowidar had raised the controversy by attacking the "Kawkab el-charq" in a symposium at the Writers Union, where he accused her that she was selfish, ugly and was married 11 times adding that Ahmed Ramy was a failed poet, and had emotional rain.
