On Sunday, Iranian state media quoted President Masoud Pezeshkian during a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin, stating that Iran is ready for a "balanced and fair" agreement that ensures stable peace and security.
Reports added that Pezeshkian informed Putin that reaching an agreement is "not far off" if the United States returns to the framework of international law.
For his part, Putin confirmed Moscow's readiness to contribute to finding a political and diplomatic solution to the ongoing conflict between Iran and the United States.
The Kremlin stated today, Sunday—in a statement reported by the Russian news agency Sputnik—that this came during a phone call between President Putin and his Iranian counterpart, Masoud Pezeshkian.
The two leaders discussed the latest developments in the Middle East, as well as the Iranian-American talks that took place yesterday in Islamabad, Pakistan.
Moreover, Putin emphasized his readiness to continue facilitating the search for a political and diplomatic settlement to the conflict and to mediate in a manner that serves the interests of establishing a just and lasting peace in the Middle East.
He also noted that Moscow is maintaining active contact with all regional partners to achieve this goal.
