Parliament Speaker Participates in Inauguration of "Egypt Street" in Serbia

Hanafi Jabali, Speaker of the Egyptian House of Representatives participated in the inauguration of Egypt Street in the Serbian capital, Belgrade, within the framework of his official visit at the head of a delegation to Serbia.

During his speech at that ceremony, the Speaker of the House expressed Egypt's deep appreciation for that gesture, which clearly expresses the peculiarity of the bilateral relations between the two countries.

He stressed that Egypt and Serbia have been linked throughout history with strong friendship relations that did not stop at their bilateral framework only, but extended to the multilateral framework with the contribution of the two countries to the establishment and leadership of the Non-Aligned Movement, which at that time represented a safe haven from international polarization and an audible voice for the peoples of the developing world.

Jabali affirmed that this celebration represents a true embodiment of restoring the positive momentum of the historical Egyptian-Serbian relations in order to develop prospects for current cooperation and push it to broader horizons, at all levels, in the interest of the two friendly countries and peoples.
