Paris to Host Journey of Holy Family in Egypt

The "Egypt Road" opera crew, which narrates the journey of the Holy Family in Egypt, will prepare to travel to France within days to perform on December 19.

Musician George Takla, the Coral team and the Egyptian Opera ballet, and the production of the “Nahra” association to revive the Egyptian heritage composed the show.

The show includes a set of songs in Arabic and hymns in the Coptic language, along with a number of ballet dances and performances that represent the hero of the trip.

Munir Ghabour, the businessperson and the society head, said that the holy family’s trip is one of the most important historical religious events which recorded the departure of Mother Mary and her child with Youssef Al-Najjar from Bethlehem to Egypt.

Ghabour explained that ''Congrès theatre'' is largest ballet theater in Paris; it accommodates 4,000 viewers, and today the French compete to buy tickets.

The show will then travel to Rome at the invitation of the Pope and then America, on a promotional trip to tourism in Egypt, especially, the Holy Family’s trip, considered a national project.

One of its stages will be opened next June, the official date of the journey beginning, according to the Matthew Gospel.

Meanwhile, he added that the journey of the Holy Family is a miracle in itself; it includes 25 sites with a distance of 2500 kilometers back and forth across Egypt and its width, most of which are difficult roads to walk, mountains, desert and predatory animals.

On other hand, Egypt possesses religious tourism elements unparalleled in the world, which witnessed many stories of the prophets and saints. They include Prophet Idris, Ibrahim, Joseph, and his sons and Moses, and the Apostle Paul who entered Egypt in 43 AD, and founded the 1st Christian school in Alexandria. The school gifted the monastic Egypt to the world, its prophet was Egyptian Antonis, the first monk in the world, who was born in 251 AD.

Noteworthy, the Cairo Opera Road was shown before at the Al-Manara Theater in New Cairo last June, in the presence of Pope Tawadros II as well as a number of ministers and Parliament members.
