Parliament's Tourism Committee: Holy Family’s Journey Is National Project

The National Egyptian Heritage Revival Association (NAHRA), hosted Amr Sedki, the head of the Egyptian parliament's tourism committee, he talked about the plan of the parliament and the committee formed to revive Holy Family’s Journey.

During a press conference, he announced that "Misr El Tariq" opera show will be staged in Paris, to narrate the story of the Holy Family and its journey in Egypt, within the global tourism attraction plan as this great

Sedki confirmed that the journey of the Holy Family addresses the spiritual part of the peoples. It represents a revival of the Egyptian tourism market, which has suffered from a major decline during the past 8 years.

“This journey also provides Egypt with a golden opportunity to allow delta region to enter the tourism map for the first time,” Sedki revealed, noting that Delta region has possibilities, cultural, and artistic persity which encourage creating tourism programs.

He added that the project of the Holy Family’s journey to the world is proceeding with good steps despite its delay, as the idea was initiated by Dr. Mamdouh Al-Beltagy, the former minister, nearly 21 years ago, but it was implemented recently.

“At the beginning, we selected 5 areas out of 25 points of the journey stations on the land of Egypt, after setting up a huge plan by various concerned parties and discussing the obstacles, specialized committees worked on these areas,” the head of the Egyptian parliament's tourism committee explained.

“The committees planned to develop all the 25 points, Indeed, we are waiting for the new year to inaugurate the infrastructure stage, as announced by the Minister of Local Development recently, and we need an investment plan for this giant project," Sedki said.

"We invite businessmen to cooperate with us, we also welcome the cooperation of civil society organizations.”
