Palestinian factions announced that leaders of several national forces held discussions in Cairo on the latest political and field developments related to the ongoing war in Gaza.
In a joint statement, the factions vowed to the Palestinian people that they would “not cease their relentless efforts” to halt the Israeli offensive. They stressed that their top priority at this stage is achieving an “immediate and comprehensive cessation” of the assault and lifting the blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip.
The statement also expressed deep appreciation for Egypt’s “significant efforts” under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, as well as the role of Qatar, in supporting the Palestinian cause.
The talks in Cairo come amid intensified regional and international mediation efforts aimed at ending the conflict and addressing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
