Pakistani Information Minister Attaullah Tarar has accused India of weaponizing water resources amid ongoing tensions between the two countries.

According to Alqahera News, Tarar emphasized that water supplies are the lifeline of Pakistan's agriculture and economy.

He warned that any attempt by India to halt the flow of water into Pakistan would be met with a firm and decisive response, stressing that "all options are on the table."

Tarar also affirmed that India's efforts to unilaterally cancel water agreements are illegal, underlining that international treaties must be respected by both sides. "Pakistan will not allow water to be used as a tool for political pressure or revenge," he asserted.

Although tensions are high, Tarar noted that the situation has not yet reached the level of military confrontation witnessed in 2019, when Pakistan shot down two Indian fighter jets. However, he cautioned that "India is playing with fire" by stoking tensions and called for a return to rational dialogue rather than dangerous escalation that could threaten regional stability.

He further reiterated that Pakistan is a responsible nuclear state with one of the strongest armies capable of handling any situation. Nonetheless, he reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to peaceful solutions, urging India to provide evidence if it has any, instead of spreading "misleading reports" and creating media crises "not based on facts."
