The Sultanate of Oman will be the guest of honour at the 56th Cairo International Book Fair, which will be held from January 23 to February 5.
Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Rahbi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Egypt, spoke to SEE on this occasion: "The Sultanate of Oman is participating in this event with a number of official bodies and civil society and non-governmental institutions, namely the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, the Ministry of Information, the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs, the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, Sultan Qaboos University, the Cultural Club, the Omani Writers and Authors Association, the Oman Memory Center, and Bait Al Zubair, in addition to the participation of thirteen Omani libraries and publishing houses that will present their publications to readers and visitors to the exhibition", he said.
Omani Ambassador in Cairo added: The Sultanate of Oman is keen to share its literary and artistic heritage with the world from here in Cairo, through its cultural program that it participates in at the Cairo International Book Fair, which includes many dialogue meetings with Omani figures, and seminars.
He said Oman will attend the 56th edition of the Cairo International Book Fair as a guest of honor, which reflects the depth of relations between the two countries in the cultural domain.
He congratulated the Egyptian people and government on the 56th Cairo International Book Fair, under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. which will be held under the slogan: "Read... In the beginning was the Word".
Omani Ambassador in Cairo added: "The Cairo International Book Fair is one of the largest book fairs in the Middle East, where about two million people visit the exhibition annually". And he praised the One Million Books Initiative announced by the Egyptian Ministry of Culture.
