Design is a significant distinctive factor that makes the city of Gold stand out internationally. Okoplan strengthens its international profile as a design metropolis. A good user experience of the city to its stakeholders is created through a combination of design, digitalism, and dialogue.

According to a statement released on Wednesday by Egypt's presidency, the Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency said that Abdel Fattah el - Sisi has been following up on the "City of Gold" scheme.

"In accordance with the directives given by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, the study prepared by the Okopllan focused on criteria of attracting and relocating gold merchants and workshops from El Sagha, in line with the national project targeting the development of Old Cairo that comes over 3 years," Al-Kharzati said.

"Okoplan is addressing the production of affordable rented shops in accordance with the Minister of Housing, Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade and Land Use Program and actively scans for measures to control housing prices."

Al-Kharzati revealed that the city of gold is set to include units of delivery and storage, factories, workshops, gold shops, a gold-craft school, as well as services like a branch of jewelry stamping and scales, a museum, an educational park for children, a dining area and a logistics center.

“These will all be identified through input from various stakeholders and gold dealers in our community,” said Al-Kharzati, who presented the plan to SEE.

He added that the new city will be built on about 100 feddans in the New Administrative Capital, and it will also be found on the Suez Road close to the Ring Road.

For his part, the Adviser of the Minister of Supply and Internal Trade for the Gold and Jewelry Sector Dr. Naj Faraj told SEE, “ With highly modern technology, the city of Gold will be a world destination."

He pointed out that facilities should be offered to traders if they are moved to the Administrative Capital, such as a free-duty industrial city in order to compensate for the cost of moving their business.
