The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), an association encompassing 57 nations, voiced its condemnation on Monday over what it termed as "Israeli crimes" in the city of Jenin and its refugee camp in the occupied West Bank.

In a statement released via its Twitter account, the OIC fervently denounced "the atrocities committed by the Israeli occupation forces in Jenin city and its refugee camp against defenseless civilians, medical crews, health centers, as well as the destruction of infrastructure, demolition of houses and mosques."

The Islamic Cooperation group stated that "these abominable crimes are an extension of the organized state terror practiced by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people."

Hussein Ibrahim Taha, the Secretary-General of the organization, expressed that "Israel's impunity has encouraged it to persist in its policies, which amount to war crimes, and crimes against humanity that demand investigation and accountability."

Earlier on Monday, Israeli fighter jets and drones carried out a wide-scale bombing operation in the Jenin refugee camp in the occupied West Bank, home to many Palestinians.

The operation witnessed unprecedented intrusion by special forces from the Israeli army into the camp, an event that hasn't been seen in the last 20 years, according to Israeli television reports.
