In a bid to contribute to achieving the sustainable development goals (SDGs), the National Museum of Egyptian Civilisation (NMEC) is set to host the inaugural edition of the World Art Forum (WAF), which is cited as the largest international contemporary art event to adopt the Global Goals at the core of its mission.

The President of the WAF Randa Fouad shared the view that there is an inextricable link between contemporary arts and the SDGs, which is compatible with Egypt’s 2030 Vision.

She also expressed her gratitude for the cooperation and assistance in that area provided by various Egypt's ministries, saying "We are pleased to see five sponsoring such an important event along with our partners the United Nations’ Representative Office in Egypt and the New York International Contemporary Art Society."

The forum will be running from 15 to 19 January and will be held under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the Ministry of Emigration and Expatriate Affairs, and the Ministry of Environment, along with the State’s Department of Tourism in Cairo.

The event will also be held in partnership with the United Nations’ Representative Office in Egypt, the National Museum of Egyptian Civilisation, and the New York International Contemporary Art Society.
