Speaking at his unveiling as the new Paris Saint-Germain manager this afternoon, Christophe Galtier notably indicated that he believed Neymar should stay at the club.
The manager, who joins on a two-year contract, indicated that the Brazilian would be a part of his plans this coming season, and that he would be meeting him face to face to discuss what his role would be.
“What manager wouldn’t want a player like Neymar in their squad? I have a very precise idea of what I expect from him. I haven’t met him yet, I will, but I want him to stay with us. It’s always better to have a player of that class with us.”
Reports last week have indicated that the club would nevertheless be willing to sell the former Barcelona man should the right offer come in, with the forward himself not against leaving for the right club either, with Chelsea a potential destination. After five years in Ligue 1, Neymar has scored a century of goals for the club.
