Netflix is planning back-to-back sequels for its most-watched movie of all time, "Red Notice".

The sequels see the return of Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot, and Ryan Reynolds, along with screenwriter-director Rawson Marshall Thurber.

Thurber has begun penning the scripts.

Netflix hopes production will begin in early 2023, but this schedule is predicated on deals and the availability of its stars, who each have plenty of upcoming projects in the pipeline.

Johnson will once again produce the movies with Hiram Garcia and Dany Garcia via their Seven Bucks Productions banner alongside Thurber's Bad Vision Productions and Beau Flynn's Flynn Picture Company.

Dwayne Johnson in “Red Notice”“Red Notice” debuted November 5, 2021 on the streaming giant. It is arguably the biggest feature commitment by the streaming giant at $130M.

Universal and Legendary originally landed the project in a multi-studio auction, with Johnson paid $20M. However, the movie got snatched by the giant streamer, becoming its most expensive movie ever.

The movie revolves around FBI’s top profiler John Hartley (Johnston) who attempts to hunt down and capture the world’s most wanted art thief, ‘The Bishop’ (Gadot) after an Interpol-issued Red Notice — the highest level warrant to hunt and capture the world’s most wanted.

He finds himself involved in the middle of a daring heist and forced to partner with the infamous con man and fellow art thief Nolan Booth (Reynolds).Red Notice cast share their favorite scenes to film

“Red Notice” was written and directed by Thurber, who also produced the movie.

The movie was also produced by Johnson, Dany Garcia, and Hiram Garcia for Seven Bucks Productions and Beau Flynn for FlynnPictureCo.

The movie marks the third collaboration between Thurber and Johnson after “Central Intelligence” and “Skyscraper”.
