Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrived in Washington, D.C., at the start of a visit during which he will meet with US President Donald Trump, according to Al Arabiya.
Barry Donadio, a political and military analyst, said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's surprise visit to Washington, which took place at a time when the military escalation in the Gaza Strip was at its peak, represents an important step in the course of relations between the United States and Israel.
In an interview with Marina El-Masry during "Matrouh Lel-Naqash," talk show broadcast on Al Qahera News Channel, Donadio explained that Netanyahu's main goal in this visit was to demonstrate the strength of the strategic alliance between the two countries, as well as to affirm continued American support for Israel on various issues.
He added that negotiations regarding a ceasefire agreement in Gaza were going through a sensitive phase.
