In the presence of the President of Mozambique Filipe Nyusi, the Egypt-Mozambique Economic Forum launched on Saturday in the Egyptian capital Cairo with the participation of a large number of businessmen from both countries.

The Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry Amr Nassar said the forum represents a huge opportunity for business communities, including exporters and importers from both countries to communicate and enhance cooperation.

Furthermore, Nassar pointed to the huge cooperation opportunities between Egypt and Mozambique, particularly in the fields of agriculture, fertilizers, engineering, construction, textile, and pharmaceutical industries.

However, Nassar pointed out that these figures 'does not live up to the potential enjoyed by the Egyptian and Mozambican economies, which requires further efforts on both sides to double these figures in the coming period.'

Correspondingly, Nassar added that the efforts of coordination and cooperation between the two African nations have been reflected in the volume of trade exchange, which reached $ 9 million at the end of 2018.

The Minister stressed Egypt's support for all initiatives aimed at increasing Egyptian investment projects in Mozambique through boosting trade flows and injecting new investments.

In the end, The Egyptian government has affirmed its commitment to achieving African unity by playing an effective role in deepening regional relations and achieving economic integration throughout the continent.
