Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr stressed Egypt's readiness for collaboration with the International Development Finance Corporation (USIDFC).

The USIDFC is an executive agency of the United States federal government responsible for providing foreign aid and financing of private development projects.

This came on the sidelines of the annual meetings of the World Bank (WB) in Washington on Sunday, during a meeting between Nasr and USAID Chief Executive Adam Boehler.

The minister added that the partnership will contribute to creating job opportunities as well as providing training programs for the workforce.

In addition, the two sides discussed the follow-up of the results of the recent meeting of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly with the Foundation President to follow up areas of cooperation with the Foundation during the coming period, including proposals for electric linkage with Africa.

The two sides agreed to finance companies and the private sector in the fields of transport, water desalination, renewable energy, and small and medium enterprises (SMEs), encouraging American companies to invest in both Egypt and Africa.

On his part, Boehler praised the initiative of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to invest in human capital, adding that Egypt has great youth to invest in, pointing out that the Foundation is looking forward to co-operating with Egypt in the coming period.

He explained that the corporation will provide funding for startups to expand the scope of businesses, encouraging companies to work in potentially risky environments to boost investments and capital.
