Renowned Egyptian Archeologist Dr. Zahi Hawass, Former Antiquities Minister said that he used to be a “loser” student, who barely succeeds every year, noting that he graduated from the university with a pass.
“When I started working in antiquities field, I found most of those who are working in this field envious of each other, as if they are hit by the curse of pharaohs,” Hawass said in an exclusive interview to “Sabah El Balad” talk show aired on “Sada ElBalad” TV channel.
Moreover, the Egyptian Egyptologist expressed his deep love for antiquities, pointing out that the first statue he discovered was the goddess of love and beauty.
“I don’t have time to get involved in disputes with others,” he confirmed.”I dedicate all my time, and efforts to my work.”
“I still follow my father’s advice; he told me to always choose the direct and right path,” Hawass added.

Concerning the global iconic celebrities he met, the famous archaeologist said that Will Smith’s latest visit to Egypt came at an invitation extended by him 11 years ago, adding that he met Princess Diana during her historic visit to Egypt in 1992, and they took nearly 36 pictures together.
In addition, Hawass was keen to direct a hopeful message to Egyptian youth saying;”Your academic failure is not the end, you can find yourself in any other field.”
