Mohieldin Re-elected as Egypt, Arab Countries' IMF Executive Director

Mahmoud Mohieldin has been unanimously re-elected as an Executive Director and board member at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), representing Egypt and a number of Arab States.

The group of Arab states comprises Egypt, the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Jordan, Iraq, Somalia, Lebanon, and Yemen, along with the Maldives.

Hence, Mohieldin will represent Egypt and the Arab group for a new term at the IMF’s board.

Currently, Mohieldin is the United Nations Special Envoy on Financing the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda. Previously, he served as the World Bank Group Senior Vice President for the 2030 Development Agenda, United Nations Relations, and Partnerships until January 2020.
