Mohamed Mounir to Perform Live in Alexandria on July 15

Iconic Egyptian singer, Mohamed Mounir, who is dubbed by his fans as “The King”, is set to perform live at the Golden Jewel Hotel's Alex Arena, in Alexandria governorate, Egypt, on Friday, July 15.

He is set to present a number of his popular and latest songs.

The event marks the acclaimed singer's first concert in the governorate in ten years.

The veteran singer is also working with several songmakers and singers on new music including Akram Hosny, Mohamad Mohie, and Hamid El Shari.

Mounir is one of the Middle East’s best singers. He released his 1977 debut solo album, “Alemony Eneeki” on the Sonar record label, after completing his military service.

The superstar has released over 22 official albums and featured six soundtrack albums under several different record labels.

Mounir, whose musical career spanned over three decades, presented various genres in his music, such as classical Egyptian Music, Nubian music, blues, jazz, and reggae.

The superstar’s lyrics are quite famous for their philosophical content as well as for their passionate social and political commentary.

He is affectionately known by his fans as “The King” due to his album and play “El Malek Howwa El Malek” (The King is The King).

Along with his singing career, Mounir also embarked on an acting career, during which he presented nearly 12 movies, 4 television series, and 3 plays.

He made his acting debut in 1982, starred in and performed the soundtrack of Youssef Chahine’s film "Hadouta Masreia” (An Egyptian Story).
