Ministry of Antiquities to Honor Zahi Hawass on Nov.7

Renowned Egyptian archaeologist Dr. Zahi Hawass will be honored Saturday, November 7, at the Egyptian Museum's garden in Al-Tahrir square, for his work in preserving and uncovering antiquities.

The celebration, organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, will be attended by many intellectuals, politicians, and archaeologists, including MP Mohamed Aboul Enein and Elham Aboul Fateh.

It will also include Dr. Khaled Al-Anani, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, and Dr. Miroslav Barta, Dean of the Faculty of Archaeology at the Charles University in Prague, presenting commemorative books about Egyptian archaeologist that was issued by the university.

The books are centered on the relationship of Hawass with 120 archaeologists from around the world, during their professional journey in Egypt.

It will also feature the screening of some televised reports about Hawass’ discoveries, the most prominent of which is his discovery of 45 royal workshops in the Valley of the Kings, and the Great Sphinx and Giza pyramids.
