Hawass Meets 1st American Touristic Group since COVID-19 Spread

Renowned archaeologist Dr. Zahi Hawass received this morning an American touristic group before Sphinx. This group is considered the first American touristic group to visit Egypt since the widespread COVID-19.

Furthermore, it comprised of 10 American surgeons.

Hawass explained various issues to the group including the founder of Sphinx who is Khafra. Moreover, he told the group about the latest secrets of the great pyramids including the unearthed papyrus explaining the process of building the great pyramid.

Hawass asserted that he considered it as the most significant discovery in the 21 century.

He added that rumors related to the presence of a lost city under the Sphinx iare wrong; in addition, there are various footages for the digging that occurred beneath the statue. They reflected the statue as a stone one without any passages inside or beneath it.

Spotting the light on the latest archaeological discoveries executed by the Tourism and Antiques Ministry, he narrated some facts about Saqqara, the Valley of Monkey, and the Assasseef archaeological site.

Concerning his latest works, he narrated to the guests many details about his Tutankhamun opera which is going to be staged before the opening ceremony of the Grand Egyptian Museum.

Finally, he gifted the group a collection of his books.
