The Monitoring and Distribution Sector at the Ministry of Supply decided to cut 10% of wheat supplied to bakeries daily during the blessed month of Ramadan, due to the low demand for bread consumption and the lack of sales.

El-Moselhi, said in previous statements, that the citizens’ consumption rates for subsidized bread decrease by approximately 10%, in contrast to the commodities whose consumption rates rise during the holy month, explaining that the increased demand for purchasing commodities indicates the availability of discounts and offers on the part of merchants during Ramadan.

He pointed out that there is a 50% increase in consumption during the month of Ramadan, compared to other months, so pumping rates are increased significantly before and during the holy month.
