The Fine Arts Sector of Egypt's Ministry of Culture has launched the fifth Jewelry Art Festival at the Gezira Arts Center. The ministry has invited Egyptian artists and jewelry designers to participate in the event by submitting the necessary form and attachments either at the center's headquarters or online.
Dr. Abdel Aal Mohamed Abdel Aal, the general coordinator of the festival and a professor of Jewelry Design at the Faculty of Applied Arts at Helwan University, explained that jewelry is a human product that aims to sustain life through its communicative function.
He further elaborated that jewelry carries a message to others, satisfying the instinct of self-preservation and the love of survival of the species.
The festival aims to promote the field of jewelry design and its significance in Egyptian heritage. Applicants can download the forms from the festival's official social media page and must submit them by December 7th.
The Ministry allows all creative people in the art of jewelry to participate and use various traditional and non-traditional raw materials and materials, as well as traditional and advanced composition and crafting options to achieve artistic, aesthetic, and functional purposes.
Each applicant may participate in a limit of six pieces either individually or as a crew, with a maximum of two crews or a crew and three individual pieces. The festival will also accept graduation projects in the field of ornaments and jewelry for participation.
