Arsenal Named Friday Mikel Arteta as new head coach to succeed Unai Emery, who was sacked in November.
Arsenal's official website reported that the Spanish manager has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with the Gunners.
Arteta, who worked as an assistant manager with Pep Guardiola in Manchester City since 2016, was a former captain for Arsenal as he played for the Gunners from 2011 until his retirement in 2016.
The Gunners suffered from bad results and performances in the recent period as they now rank tenth in the Premier League with only twenty-two points.
Arsenal are set to clash against Everton on Saturday in the 18th round of the Premier League.

On November 29, Arsenal decided to sack head coach Unai Emery after just 18 months in charge of the Premier League club.
On his part, the 37-year-old manager expressed his pleasure over his new post.
“This is a huge honor. Arsenal is one of the biggest clubs in the world. We need to be competing for the top trophies in the game and that’s been made very clear to me in my discussions with Stan and Josh Kroenke, and the senior people from the club," Mikel said according to the Gunners' official website.
“We all know there is a lot of work to be done to achieve that but I am confident we’ll do it. I’m realistic enough to know it won’t happen overnight but the current squad has plenty of talent and there is a great pipeline of young players coming through from the academy,” he added.
