Maradona's Porsche Sold for $578,000 in Paris Auction

A Porsche car owned by Argentine soccer legend Diego Maradona, during his final season in Europe, was sold for $578,000 at an auction in Paris, according to the Daily Mail.

Maradona drove the 1992 silver Porsche 911 while playing for Sevilla in La Liga during the 1992-93 season.

An auto specialist at Bonhams auction house Gregory Tuytens, who oversaw the sale of the convertible Porsche, initially estimated the car to end the bid by $240,800. The original price for the 1992 Porsche would cost $43,258, however, as fans rushed to buy the car, it was sold 10 times its original price.

Maradona, who an owned an impressive fleet of luxury cars, was stopped once by Seville police after turning on a red light at 112 mph.

On Wednesday, Hundreds of Maradona's supporters gathered in Buenos Aires and demanded justice into the football's star death. Meantime, investigators still look into the health treatment he received before his death to determine whether it was a wrongful death or not

A wrongful death would convict his personal doctor with up to 15 years in prison.
