Liverpool star Sadio Mane has just arrived Monday in Hurghada, Egypt ahead of CAF Awards 2019 ceremony.

The ceremony is scheduled to be held on Tuesday in Hurghada.

Sadio Mane, Liverpool’s star Mohamed Salah and Algeria’s Captain and Man City player Riyad Mahrez were nominated for the 2019 CAF Player of the year award.

Salah has not arrived till now as some reports said that the iconic Egyptian star would miss the ceremony.

Earlier, a source in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) private jet, which was allocated to carry the three international players, took off from England without Salah.

Meanwhile, CAF received an official apology from Riyad Mahrez for not attending the ceremony due to his commitment to his Premier League club Manchester City.

Algeria's captain apologised as he has an important clash with the Citizens against Manchester United in the Premier League.

Mane becomes so close to scoop his first Africa Player of the Year Award as the other two nominees will not attend the ceremony.

He put in a sparkling performance with Liverpool and his national team as he guided Senegal's national team to reach the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations final, before suffering a 0-1 defeat from Algeria.

Also, he claimed the Uefa Champions League, Uefa Super Cup and Fifa Club World Cup with the Reds during 2019.
