Renowned Egyptian actress, Maha Abou Ouf passed away early Thursday at the age of 65 after a struggle with illness.
The actress had departed after an artistic journey that exceeded 4 decades and 30 months from the death of her brother, actor Ezzat Abou Ouf, who passed away in July 2019.
The Actors' Syndicate announced in a Facebook post that the late actress' funeral prayer will be held this afternoon at the Al-Rahman al-Rahim mosque in the Abbassiya neighborhood, on Salah Salem Street.
Maha Abou Ouf, who was born on November 28, 1959, had been battling cancer in the past period. She was hospitalized recently with severe pneumonia and remained in intensive care until her final days.
The late star had graduated from the American University in Cairo (AUC) and then launched her artistic career in 1979 along with her late brother and three sisters - Mona, Manal, and Mervat - through the "The Four M" band, which had a long-lasting impact on the Egyptian pop scene.
Maha Abou Ouf tied the knot three times. She was married to late legendary musician Omar Khorshid and was his fourth and final marriage.
She married for the second time and gave birth to her son Sharif, and had later married Omar Al Manzalawi, who had remained married until her death.
