French President Emmanuel Macron intends to phone his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, soon, to discuss developments following the recent escalation of tension in the conflict zone in eastern Ukraine.
The Elysee Palace said in a statement today, Saturday, that "Macron will soon contact the Russian president to discuss the situation in Ukraine."
On Friday, the Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, announced that during his talks with French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, the situation in Donbas was discussed.
"We discussed the security situation in eastern Ukraine, and the ceasefire deal, which went into effect from the 20s of July 2020, was very well implemented," Zelensky said, during an interview with journalists broadcast on his office page on Facebook.
