MACIC Organizes Cycle Rall As Part of AKAM

Maulana Azad Centre for Indian Culture (MACIC), Embassy of India in Cairo, organized a Cycle Rally as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) celebrations on 25 March 2022.

The Rally was flagged off by Ambassador of India to Egypt Ajit Gupte at 9 AM from Embassy of India in Cairolocated at 5 Aziz Abaza Street, Zamalek.

The route of the cycle rally has covered the periphery of Zamalek Island. The even intends to spread the message of adopting ahealthylifestyle and importance of exercise in daily life.

The event is expected to attracted the about 100 cyclists from Embassy of India in Cairo and cycling clubs.

Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of independence and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements.

The Festival started on 12th March 2021 with a 75-week countdown to 75th anniversary of India’s independence on 15th August 2022 and will end post a year on 15th August 2023.

The Festival is being celebrated by India and its diplomatic Missions with active participation of Indian diaspora and friends of India all over the World.
