Netflix is developing a live-action movie adaptation of the classic Capcom video game "Mega Man".

The project was first announced back in 2018 just days after the release of Mega Man 11. Back then, the upcoming movie was given the working title “Mega Man”.

Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman were confirmed to both write and direct the movie and it was originally announced for 20th Century Fox.

Although the news has yet to be confirmed by Netflix, the movie’s production company Supermarché revealed the partnership during a recent website update.

“Henry, Rel, and their in-house producer Orlee-Rose Strauss maintain an active development slate. Features in the works include: an adaptation of Capcom's MEGA MAN which they wrote and are directing,” reads the official website.

Although little has been heard about the project since it was first announced, Joost and Schulman confirmed last year that the movie was still in development.

“We are super excited about it. I think we’re going to have some big news about it soon. I can’t say all that much right now, but it’s a project very near and dear to our hearts and we’re psyched," said Joost.
