Leicester City said on Sunday that they contacted Police as their midfielder Hamza Choudhury suffered racist abuses from Liverpool's fans.

Mohamed Salah suffered a serious injury and replaced by Adam Lallana during the Reds' 2-1 victory over the Foxes after he was hacked down by Choudhury.

Following their clash at Anfield, Liverpool's fans targeted the English midfielder with racist abuses through social media platforms, including Twitter.

On its part, Leicester City management issued a statement, condemning these abuses. "We are appalled by these comments, which the club has reported to the police and to the social media platform on which they were made," the Foxes spokesman said according to The Guardian.

He said also that Leicester City management refuses all the discriminatory behavior, as it has no place in football.

"Discriminatory behavior has no place in football or society and we will seek the strongest possible course of action to be taken against those responsible." he asserted.

On its part, Liverpool's head coach Jürgen Klopp expressed his anger over Salah's injury, blasting the Leicester City star.

"It’s a challenge I don’t understand,” said Klopp. “It’s dangerous as hell. I don’t want to cause the boy any problems but he has to calm down. This is not the first situation like this," the German coach said after the game.

It is worth mentioning that Liverpool managed to snatch a 2-1 hard-fought victory over the Foxes, attaining the Premier League leadership and achieving the full mark after pulling off their eighth consecutive Premier League victory.
