On Tuesday, a Lebanese court upheld the exemption of Nancy Ajram’s husband, Dr. Fadi El-Hachem from all charges laid against him for killing an armed and masked trespasser after he broke into their Beirut residence in January 2020.

El-Hachem was charged with the murder of the masked and armed trespasser identified as a Syrian national Mohamed Hassan Al-Mousa, after shooting him 17 times.

The Syrian young man allegedly broke into their villa in Beirut in the early hours of the morning while the couple's young children were sleeping.

Ajram sustained a minor injury on her right leg, but the other family members were safe.

El-Hachem was later released after reviewing the surveillance cameras and evidence, confirming that what he had done was a legitimate act of self-defense.

El-Hachem's lawyer said that the intentional murder sentence is 20 years in prison but this sentence is bound to a second article that prohibits punishment, so this led to the same result, which is that Al-Hashem will not be imprisoned.

The incident was the focus of a documentary titled “The Full Story” featuring famed Lebanese star Nancy Ajram and her husband, Fadi al-Hashem.

“The Full Story” documentary was released on July 16, 2020, and narrated the story of the burglary and featured snippets of real footage from the theft.

A number of lawyers from different Arab nationalities expressed their solidarity with the who was killed in Nancy Ajram’s Villa and went to Lebanon to defend him.

The number of volunteer lawyers reached 28 lawyers, including 14 Syrian lawyers living in the United States, 4 Moroccan lawyers, 3 Egyptian lawyers, and 7 others from Syria and Lebanon.
