Last night, Cairo Opera House's Al Gomhorya Theater witnessed a truly unforgettable performance by La Niña, a talented and impressive Neapolitan singer-songwriter known for her genre-defying sound and magnetic stage presence.
Held in a packed venue pulsing with anticipation, the concert brought together diverse audiences eager to experience the vibrant energy of her latest album, "Furèsta."
The artist's musical combination is based on bridging the southern Italian folklore with other Mediterranean musical directions. This atmosphere was greatly scripted through the diverse sounds of percussion, mandoline, synths, and guitar.
La Niña’s music is both deeply rooted and fearlessly experimental. On stage, she performed with warmth and confidence, connecting effortlessly with the audience.
She expressed profound gratitude to Egypt and the Egyptian people, honoring the audience by performing an exclusive song that was based on ancient Italian myth.
She also celebrated the mood of warmth and harmony by performing two classic Italian songs.
The crowd responded with enthusiasm, creating an atmosphere of shared emotion and joy.
The performance was enriched by her exceptional band: Alfredo Maddaluno, Denise Dimaria, Francesca Del Duca, and Lydia Palumbo. Each one of them added unforgettable sounds, enriching the mood of the performance.
The singer, Carola Moccia, set a great interaction with the audience by giving short introductions about her songs that address several emotional moods such as anxiety, relief, overwhelming, and identity, in addition to addressing the Italian identity and illegal immigration by touching upon the story of an immigrant who arrives in Italy after losing her family in the sea but arrives safely with her newborn child and the suffering of children around the world.
Egyptian-Iranian artist Koky shared the stage with the singer to deliver an energetic song influenced by the earthquakes that shake Italy.
The concert was organized by the Italian Culture Center in Cairo.
