Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Culture launched Thursday its Fashion Incubation Program, which is designed to uncover, support, and promote local creatives and entrepreneurs in the fashion industry.
The program also aims to provide a platform to enhance the participants' entrepreneurial journey toward establishing a well-known brand in local and international markets.
According to the ministry’s website, the program's first phase is a three-day virtual “fashion hackathon,” that will see participants split into small groups to solve some specific challenges in the field within a short period of time.
The winners will receive a five-day trip to Milan Fashion Week, while three runners-up will receive financial rewards and other prizes.
The second phase is a “boot camp” — is a five-day virtual event focused on an experimental learning experience.
The participants will turn their ideas into mature business concepts, whilst developing entrepreneurial skills that are necessary to build a sustainable and impactful business.
The third phase is “Incubator” — it aims to find the next generation of game-changers who will revolutionize the fashion industry in Saudi Arabia. The program will nurture start-ups and early-stage entrepreneurs through the beginning phases of their projects.
The Participants will receive continuous mentorship, support to set-up the foundations for their ventures, and assistance to discover and strengthen their Minimum Viable Product.
