On Sunday, Russia’s Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said his country considers any decision issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) to be null and legally non-binding.

"We believe that any decisions issued by the ICC are invalid from a legal point of view, and we do not recognize them,” Peskov said, according to the "Sputnik" news site.

The ICC had issued an arrest warrant against Russian President Vladimir Putin as well as the Russian Commissioner for Children's Rights, maria love-Belova, on charges of "illegal deportation" of Ukrainian children to Russia.

On her part, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Telegram that the decisions of the ICC have no meaning for our country, including from a legal point of view."

She added that Russia is not a party to the Rome Statute of the ICC and does not assume any obligations under it.

Moscow does not cooperate with this body and the possible 'prescriptions' for detention issued by the International Court of Justice would be legally void for us, according to Zakharova.
