Kadim Al Sahir, Assala Postpone Concerts Mourning UAE Presidnt's Death

Syrian superstar Assala Nasri and Iraqi singer Kadim Al Sahir postponed their concerts, mourning the death of President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Al Sahir canceled his concert in Saudi Arabia, in which he was going to share the stage with Zena Emad, on Friday, 13 May.

The Saudi Arabia Ministry of Culture announced the news on Twitter, pointing out that it will reveal the new date later as well as the mechanism of ticket refund.

In like manner, Assala announced the cancellation of her concert in Kuwait that was slated for Friday, 13 May, along with Iraqi singer Rahma Riad.

"Out of respect and appreciation for my family in the Emirates, we decided to postpone the concert for another date," she wrote on Twitter. "May God have mercy on the leader of the Emirates and all our condolences to the elders, praying to God for them to have a long life and complete health."

WAM News Agency reported on Friday the death news, adding that the UAE will observe a forty-day state mourning with the flag flown at half-mast starting today, and suspend work at all ministries, departments, and federal, local, and private entities for three days.
