On Sunday, four people died after a boat carrying tourists capsized in Lake Maggiore, Italy, while no missing persons were reported.
The ANSA agency stated that a tourist boat, with about 24 people on board (of different nationalities, including Italian, German, and British), capsized yesterday evening, Sunday, due to sudden winds, and 20 people were rescued.
According to the head of the Lombardy region, Attilio Fontana, a strong storm led to the accident, indicating that the tourists had rented the 16-meter-long sailboat.
The fire brigade initially said three bodies had been recovered after a boat capsized at the southern end of the lake near Lisanza town, about 50 km northwest of Milan.
Later it was reported that the fourth body was found at a depth of 16 meters near the wreckage of the boat, adding that it is not believed that there are other missing persons.
