Italian PM: Egypt plays pioneering role in all fields

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said, in her speech during the Egyptian-European Summit, that this is a historic day for relations between Egypt and the European Union, adding:"I thank you for these words, and I am proud of this role that Italy is playing."

She added: " The comprehensive partnership between Egypt and the European Union comes in this current circumstance in which we face many crises that could destabilize the Mediterranean region, those relations may call on the European Union to strengthen relations with its neighbors from the south to address the common challenges we face such as food security, energy and water and development."

She continued: The joint declaration and the initiative that we are undertaking, in my opinion, clearly demonstrates the promotion and encouragement of a new method of cooperation between the Mediterranean coast and the other side of the coast, and we affirm that Egypt plays a pioneering role and a new model in all fields."
