Israel's Health Ministry confirmed on Friday its first case of coronavirus, which was one of the returnees to Israel from the coronavirus-hit Diamond Princess cruise ship docked at Yokohama port.
A woman from the 11 Israelis who arrived earlier this morning after they spent over two weeks in quarantine on the cruise ship, had tested positive for coronavirus on Friday, marking the first case of the novel COVID-19 virus.

"An examination at the Ministry of Health's main laboratory found that one of the passengers returning from the ship in Japan was found to be positive. The lab is continuing to confirm the test results. The other passengers who returned were found to be negative. The patient is in quarantine and under supervision and it is not an infection that occurred in Israel." the ministry said in a statement on Twitter.
