The Israeli occupation forces arrested, Friday, the imam of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque Sheikh Ekrima Sabri.
Sources said that the occupation forces arrested Sheikh Sabri after storming his home in the Al-Suwana neighborhood in the city, and took him to the investigation and detention center known as "Al-Maskoubiya".
Earlier today, Israeli Interior Minister Moshe Arbel threatened to revoke the residence of the imam after he mourned during the Friday sermon the head of the political bureau of the Hamas movement Ismail Haniyeh.
Sheikh Sabri said - in the Friday sermon - that "the residents of Jerusalem and those on the pulpit of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque consider the martyr Ismail Haniyeh as a martyr with God, and we ask God Almighty to have mercy on him."
