Ismailia Mango Festival Kicks off in Presence of Ambassadors, Commercial Attaches

The activities of the Mango Festival in the city of Ismailia in its second edition kicked off Friday, in the presence of a number of ambassadors, representatives of consulates and commercial attaches.

The events were attended by Hazem Fahmy, Assistant Foreign Minister for American Affairs, Ashraf Mounir, Deputy Assistant Foreign Minister for Latin American Affairs, and a number of foreign ambassadors from the Republic of Panama, Canada, Venezuela, Uruguay, Chile, Argentina and Ecuador.

The event also included the ambassadors of Cuba, Paraguay, Peru, Azerbaijan, South Korea, Indonesia, Sierra Leone, China in Cairo, Australia, Nigeria, Nepal, the Philippines, New Zealand, Ireland, Jordan, India, Bangladesh, Uzbekistan, the Chinese Consulate in Alexandria, and the Dominican Republic.

The governor of Ismailia said that the festival started in front of the governorate office building on Muhammad Ali Street, with an entertainment procession consisting of participants from all singing, performing and folk arts groups.

He emphasized that Ismailia is primarily an agricultural governorate; because of the distinguished and unique crops it produces, including strawberries, oranges, sesame and peanuts, and mango in particular.
