Iran closes province to stem spread of coronavirus

The governor of Khuzestan in southwestern Iran, Qassem Soleimani Dashtaki, announced the closure of the province and the prevention of vehicles from leaving and entering it, in an effort to stem the spread of coronavirus.

Earlier today, Saturday, a spokeswoman for the Iranian Ministry of Health, Sima Sadat Lari, confirmed that the situation in Khuzestan is very bad, since the Coronavirus is spreading at a record speed.

The Iranian Ministry of Health said that 82 deaths and 8,212 new cases of Coronavirus were recorded during the past 24 hours in the country.

The Iranian Minister of Health, Saeed Namaki, announced that the mutant variant of coronavirus, which was discovered in Britain, is spreading in Iran.
