Facebook Inc. successfully resolved a major outage issue that affected Instagram, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, and Facebook Gaming on Friday.

Earlier today, a technical issue made it difficult for people to access some Facebook services. We have solved this problem for everyone. We apologize for any inconvenience," Facebook said.

However, some users reported that they still can't see blue check marks that indicate someone has read your message, which could indicate that there might be some small issues lingering.

During the service outage, over 100,000 users reported issues with Instagram, over 24,000 users reported issues with WhatsApp, and over 5,000 users reported issues with Facebook Messenger.

When going to the Instagram website during the service outage, a white page appears with the message "5xx Server Error", whether browsed on mobile phones or PC.

The service outage wasn't the only last point in Facebook's services: Facebook Messenger and Instagram DMs fell back in December. Both companies also faced major interruptions during Thanksgiving in 2019.
