The new board of the Chamber of Metal Industries, led by Emad El Alfy, at the Egyptian Federation of Industries approved establishing a Precious Metals Division for improving the local industry of gold and retaining its international recognition once again.

In addition, Ehab Wassef, the Chairman of the Christian D'oro factory, was appointed as the new pision’s head.

On his side, Wassef said that the pision’s board will include five from the current members of the Chamber of Metal Industries’ board, alongside three members who have wide experience with such industry. All members will be selected in coordination with El Alfy.

The three members who were announced were: Dr. Wasfy Amin, the former head of Gold and Jewelry’s Division at the Egyptian Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Rafiq Abbas, the former head of the pision, and Emad Sobhy El Sardi, the financial and legal consultant of L’azurde.

Wassef added that the pision asserted the importance of selecting real experienced experts among its board members, in addition, they should have the required solutions for supporting and developing this industry in Egypt in the light of President Abdel Fattah Sisi’s announcement of establishing a city for gold and jewelry manufacturing for deepening this industry locally, alongside opening a school for gold products for providing the market with well educated, skilled, and trained workers.

Next, he pointed out that the pision will follow the Presidential direction of demolishing all hindrances that face the gold industry locally, which cause increasing the production’s expenses, and weakening the competition of the local products in the world markets, alongside developing gold products designs and styles.

Wassef finally asserted that Egypt has all the required features to be a gold and jewelry manufacturing hub.
