The Coptic Museum in Old Cairo houses a temporary archaeological exhibition, about the knight martyrs in the Coptic era, entitled "Knight Saints", in celebration of the Coptic New Year (1741).
Gehan Atef, Director General of the Coptic Museum, explained that the exhibition aims to highlight the status of the martyrs in the history of the Coptic Church and depict them on various artifacts such as stones, fabrics, icons, and manuscripts.
The exhibition includes seven artifacts from the museum's distinctive collection of icons of knight martyrs, such as an icon depicting Saint Mar Gerges, dating back to the 18th century AD, in addition to a piece of Coptic fabric, a limestone tombstone decorated with decorations, and three manuscripts.
The manuscripts were found in 1910, near the remains of a Monastery west of Fayoum. The third manuscript is the Synaxarium manuscript, which is a Greek word meaning the book that contains the lives of saints and martyrs arranged according to the Coptic calendar.
