A tourist resort in Hurghada has introduced a unique tradition to strengthen the connection between tourists and the city. Visitors to the city have the opportunity to plant a tree and place a sign bearing their names and the names of their families, as well as the names of the hotels they visit in Hurghada.
This new tradition aims to create a deeper bond between tourists and the city. Tourists return periodically to take care of the "family tree" that they planted.
Abdel Rahim Anani, an agricultural engineer responsible for landscaping at a tourist resort in Hurghada, has created the "European Tourists Park" on the beach. The park features hundreds of trees planted by tourists from 50 different foreign nationalities.
Each tree was planted by the tourists themselves, and they placed a sign with their family names on it. This personal connection has led to tourists visiting their trees regularly, with some visiting every 3 or 6 months to take care of them.
Tourists visit the trees they have planted, caring for them, trimming their leaves, and taking souvenir photos with them. And it is the responsibility of the arborist official to care for the trees until the tourists return.
Essam Ali, a member of the Chamber of Tourist Establishments, believes that special events held by tourist hotels in Hurghada and Marsa Alam have a significant positive impact on promoting Egyptian tourism. These events serve as free advertising.
Ali highlights the "Tree for Every Family" initiative as one of several successful initiatives, along with celebrating the national holidays of foreign countries and organizing various festivals and events such as foam parties, watermelon and mango festivals, and the Festival of Colors, all contributing to the promotion of Egyptian tourism.
