High-Level Chinese Delegation Visits Egypt's National Museum of Egyptian Civilization

In the heart of Fustat, the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC) opened its doors to a prestigious delegation from China. Led by the influential Mr. Li Xi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China, the delegation embarked on a journey through Egypt's rich history and heritage.

Greeted with warmth and enthusiasm, Dr. Ahmed Ghoneim, the CEO of the NMEC, and Dr. Maisara Abdullah, Deputy CEO for Archaeological Affairs, personally escorted the delegation. The tour encompassed significant museum locales, including the Lake of Life viewing area and the atmospheric open-air theater.

Mr. Li Xi and his team were captivated by the diverse array of historical artifacts, each echoing a unique period of Egyptian history. From the mysteries of prehistoric times to the tales of the modern era, the NMEC seamlessly encapsulates the narrative of Egypt’s illustrious past.

Further highlighting the NMEC's commitment to cultural exchange, Dr. Ghoneim illuminated the array of cultural and art exhibitions that the museum frequently hosts. In a gesture of international camaraderie, a special catalog of royal mummies was presented to Mr. Li Xi.

Expressing his admiration, Mr. Li Xi lauded the museum’s stunning archaeological collection, emphasizing the unmatched depth of Egyptian civilization. Gratefully, he acknowledged the museum's meticulous planning and organization, reinforcing the strong cultural ties between China and Egypt.
